An Introduction to Authenticity Based Social-Emotional Learning

The need for emotionally and culturally responsive education has never been more pressing. To meet the challenges of this moment, educators will need to strengthen their practice with high-quality professional development in Social-Emotional Learning and Culturally Responsive Education. We've been collaborating with educators across the country to create a one-of-a-kind hands-on experience that introduces educators to the Authenticity-Based Social-Emotional Learning approach.

We have devised a dynamic and informative program that will cover the basics of Authenticity Based SEL, Culturally Responsive Teaching, and Creativity Education. These three sessions will include ample time interacting with educators as well as solo-work away from the computer.

Authenticity based Social Emotional Learning includes:

• Inviting students' authentic experiences into their learning

• Establish a student-centered practice

• Building students social-emotional competence

• Establishing equity based practices

• Building trust and forming strong student-teacher relationships
