Authenticity in the Remote Classroom
August 9th, 12th, 16th, 19th (9am- 2pm)
$150
This live, hands-on virtual workshop—which spans four online sessions August 9th, 12th, 16th, and 19th from 10am-3pm—takes a compassionate, student-centered, culturally-responsive approach to remote instruction. In our workshops we co-create practices for fostering a culture of authenticity in the remote classroom that supports the social-emotional and academic growth of every student and ensures that all members of your learning community thrive.
Participants will engage with lessons, routines, digital tools, and discussion techniques that they can bring back to their classrooms. Topics include:
Creating online environments where students can feel safe and brave
Working collaboratively with our students to build a warm and productive learning environment
Processing the grief and trauma our communities are experiencing
Examining the way in which we, as educators, can show up as our full authentic selves in the remote setting
At the end of this workshop, participants and facilitators will co-design specific processes for each participant’s individual work and help them build a plan for implementation.
