Remember
what it felt
like to be seen
by a teacher...
We all want to be seen.
We need it, in fact. We’ve needed it from before we
can even remember. Discover how the Guild works with
children, parents and educators to meet that need
for every child.
As a community,
we strive to:
Respect the authenticity of every individual in the community
Draw out the personal creativity inside each community member
Create an environment that invite people to share their personal experiences
Understand the ways in which the current system of education forces people (adults and children) to obscure parts of themselves in order to fit the system
Embrace people’s cultures and identities
Embrace people’s different ways of thinking and learning
Acknowledge our own personal and cultural biases
Commit to bringing all of ourself (including the ineffable parts) into our teaching
What our community says about our programming:
“I HEARD a lot of teachers reframing their language, owning where they are as well as acknowledging where they would like to be”
“I FELT affirmed and relieved”
“I LEARNED that I need to take moments for myself because they don’t just happen”
“I SAID The truth...that was freeing and liberating”
“I SAW people understanding how to hold themselves accountable for taking care of themselves”
